Top tips for decorating your AirBnB
Turning part, or all, of your property into an AirBnB space is such a popular way to make extra money – but how do you decorate it to attract guests and stand out from the rest?
We have collaborated on a number of AirAnB spaces, and here are a few of our top tips for creating spaces that work:
1️⃣ Keep it simple – Remove as much clutter as possible and make sure there is enough room for guests to store their own bags and possessions. Keep personal items like family pictures packed away to keep the space as neutral as possible.
2️⃣ Find a feature that pops – Whether it’s a feature wall in a bold wallpaper, a chair upholstered in a quirky fabric or a fun mosaic in the shower, create at least one bold feature that really stands out and make sure to showcase it in your marketing photos.
3️⃣ Keep it clean – Your property doesn’t need to be decorated with expensive designer pieces to make a good impression, the most important rule for success is to keep it as sparkling clean as possible, and do away with anything faded or scruffy that doesn’t support a well-maintained image. Wipe down surfaces again just before guests arrive with a fragrant product like ZoFlora for a fresh, just-scrubbed smell.
4️⃣ Let there be light – A well-designed space that’s poorly lit can feel dirty and prison-like. Allow as much natural light to flood in as possible, using mirrors to amplify the effect where you can. Your guests will also appreciate access to different types of lighting, regardless of the size of your AirBnB space – at the very least there should be lamps for every bedside, ceiling lamps in every room and task lighting in the kitchen.
5️⃣ Finally, find a way to leave a personal touch for your guests – a handwritten welcome note, a pack of freshly baked biscuits, some recommended reading – something that gives them a warm welcome and makes the good impression you need for a top review.
